Hi! Welcome to Valley Girl Rides. I grew up on a hairy pony and now, aside from juggling motherhood, I am in charge of the horsey side of Valley Girl Farm. After years of interest in the more formal side of riding, things changed when I moved to California and became increasingly inspired by a simpler, kinder and earthier horsemanship. It stuck with me and now my horse’s mane has grown out and we prefer galloping about on the mountain than doing circles in an arena.
I am passionate about the countryside and all things nature. I never get bored of it and the Black Mountains always, without fail, take my breath away and make my heart race. My rides explore open countryside with views across the Welsh Marches and Black Mountains. There is a break for lunch either in a pub or a picnic, before more adventures on the hill. We finish the ride with a glass of Prosecco (on your horse), followed by tea and cake (not on your horse!). Then to sooth sore muscles, unwind in the pool, or have a massage. In the evening everyone gathers for a candlelit dinner serving seasonal, home-cooked food in our farmhouse. I live my life by Winston Churchill’s famous quote “No hour of life is wasted spent in the saddle.”
