Lily

Lily grew up on the back of a hairy pony and now, aside from juggling motherhood and writing, she is in charge of the horsey side of Valley Girl Farm. After years of an interest in the more formal side of riding, things changed when Lily moved to California and became inspired by a simpler, kinder, earthier horsemanship. Now her horse’s mane has grown out and she prefers galloping about in the wild than doing circles in an arena.

Lily’s rides explore open countryside with breathtaking views across the Welsh Marches and Black Mountains. There is a chilled stop for lunch either in a pub or a picnic, before more adventures on the hill. We finish off with a glass of Prosecco (on your horse) at the farm, followed by tea and cake. Then to sooth sore muscles, unwind in the pool, or have a massage.

In the evening everyone gathers for a candlelit dinner serving seasonal, home-cooked food in our ancient farmhouse.

Here at Valley Girl we live by Winston Churchill’s famous quote “No hour of life is wasted spent in the saddle”
