Welcome to our second-generation family farm tucked under the Black Mountains. We are a mother and daughter business, we are both artists and lovers of the countryside. Over the years we’ve had a lot of happiness from hosting guests at our beloved farm, people appreciate our laid-back living attitude, our ‘English country life’ and the peaceful atmosphere of our valley… this inspired the idea of retreats. The world is a hectic place but we feel a genuine respite at the farm. It has a special energy, perhaps because its origin is 15th century, in many ways it still feels as it once was, somehow timeless, so come, step back with us and share the peace and joy.
The ethos of our farm has always been about preserving and respecting nature. We have never used insecticides or fertilisers and manage the land very carefully in order to encourage as much diversity and support for wildlife as possible, in-fact, a large percentage of our retreat profits will go to insuring the conservation of the land we so cherish.
We are a 15 minute drive from the world’s largest book town, Hay-on-Wye, with all of it’s many unique attractions, a horse ride or walk from the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and a short car drive to medieval landmarks, Snodhill Castle, breathtaking Llanthony Abbey and the 12th century Cistercian Dore Abbey. We are a direct train from Paddington and have access to all the major airports.
Our Resets
You can either take your horse on holiday with you and have a magical guided adventure in the Welsh Hills or you can come and create art in our incredible studio and taught by award winning artists.
We have a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and if you wish you can book a massage or have a fabulous country walk.
You can book in a group of 4-8 people for an exclusive break but we do put together mixed groups of people for a shared experience too.
Our breaks are either 2.5 days/3 nights of art or 2.5/3 nights of riding.
The retreat is a celebration of creativity, peace, unspoiled countryside and a switch off from modern life. Bring your book, old jeans, paintbrush and join us (leave your laptop, hairbrush and worries at the door).
